What other travelers are saying about Sapporo Clock Tower
Small museum with great little titbits about the university of Hokkaido and the history of sapporo. Also impressive to see the mechanism of the clocktower which is still in its original form. But what left the best impression was to have a free tour guide that speak English and could explain in detail every panels as well as awnser my questions. Another tour was happening right next to mine, so it didn't seem like a rare occurrence either. For the price and the proximity to jr station, would definitely recommend!
Nothing really too special about this old clock house. It may have its significant at the time when it was built but it is now surrounded by modern buildings!
If you pay ¥350 for a ticket to visit inside of the building but the information displayed is all in Japanese, Chinese and Korean, very few have English distribution. But the mechanical clock display inside on the second floor is very cool.
Just like many other photo location, there is a stand in front of the building that is set up for taking selfie!
Very nice museum, about the history of the building. Most explanations are translated jn English. There is also a spot inside to take pictures with a statue Dr Clark and a small shop.
Visited in June, and the inside of the building was very hot despite fans and some air conditioning.
Usui Masao was a terrific host at this wonderful historical landmark. He spoke English, well. He was knowledgeable regarding facts that related to Japan and America! Most of the information he shared would have taken goes to get by translating each picture and item at the museum. Some, I'm sure, we wouldn't have known without him.
The symbol of Sapporo, a great location to capture memories while in the metro, near this landmark is a huge park where you can unwind and relax while having some great pictures and ice cream.
