Karen and I joined an Aussie family of four and a French couple for the matcha tea ceremony and were offered stools if sitting cross legged was awkward. The ceremony was conducted by a lovely lady dressed in a kimono who spoke very good English and welcomed photography at any time during the ceremony. We were shown several of her own beautiful cups and were allowed to choose one for the ceremony. We were then taken through the process including the history and significance behind the ceremony. Finally we were given the opportunity to make our own tea which turned out surprisingly well. We purchased an authentic bamboo frothing brush at the end of the ceremony.
