Tranquility and a 'mindful' tea ceremony
A beautiful landscape garden situated in Kanazawa. Just stepping into the garden made my heartbeat calmer, with every stepping-stone worries were left behind. The sound of running water and the large variety of plants and trees underlined the feeling of timelessness. The tea house, located in the east upper-level of the garden contains two rooms - one for entering under silence and the other for the tea ceremony itself. The act of taking the tea was sincerely demonstrated by three ladies dressed in kimonos, who took turn. It all felt very genuine. MIndfulness.
Small, tranquil, beautiful garden
Visiting this garden is a must. My daughter and I went there for a tea ceremony, not expecting to see such a lovely garden. It was so peaceful with a lovely water feature and statues dotted around. The plants were beautiful. There is quite a steep climb up to the tea house, which may be difficult for some people. The tea ceremony (Saitsetsu-Tei Roji) itself is very good. Very professional and the ladies really want you to get the most out of it. This was a highlight of our trip.
