It was a great day at the park! Beautiful views and cute animals :) I would probably recommend going during Spring more, as, despite there being some flowers, the actual flower fields weren’t in bloom. So, a visit during late August may not be 100% be worth the price. Still enjoyed my time there a lot!
You need to take a ferry from Meinohama Terminal to get to the island. The island itself is beautiful and peaceful. While there's a bus available, I recommend using a car for easier access. There are some hidden beaches to explore and a lovely flower park where you can pick a sunflower for free.
My recommendation would be to take the bus to the flower field and walk the rest by foot if you can. Stop by the beach and enjoy the view. Then walk 40 minutes on downhill / flat land all the way to the village. The view and architecture is beautiful and you can even watch the islander work if you’re lucky.
Beautiful and calm island. A little paradise half an hour away from Fukuoka.

It was a peaceful and relaxing visit. Bought tickets from vending machine using credit card. Roundtrip for one adult is ¥460. After arriving at the island, we took a bus to the flower park. Bus timings shown in picture at the end.
Quite a big place to explore and there are eateries to have tea and lunch. There are playgrounds and swings around for kids and adults as well.

Would definitely discourage people coming here during the summer though. Sun was too hot and piercing. Flowers and trees were withered up. Highly recommend to come back during spring for the flowers.
