What other travelers are saying about Kegon Waterfall (Kegon no taki)
We visited this waterfall within a nice park. There were food and drink stores here. The elevator goes down 100 m to the falls, but there are steep stairs down so it's not wheelchair accessible and a challenge for those with walking disabilities. The waterfall is still visible even if you don't take the elevator down. We had a pleasant time here.
Been there couple days ago (February '25).
Although it's still winter, the view is still stunning.
Paid ¥600 for a 100-m-height elevator which took you down to the 3-level observatory deck.
Tips:
1. There are 2 vending machines (near the entry gate and in the observatory deck) for customised keychain which enables you to grave name and date, so, consider bringing some spare coins.
2. The sun sets at the direction against the waterfall (in the Lake Chusenji), so you may adjust the time you plan to come and the view you'll expect there.
The water of Lake Chuzenji pours down from a 97-meter-high cliff. It is a grand scale where you can feel the majesty of nature and the beauty of its gorgeous shapes at the same time.
Kegon Falls is known as one of the three most famous waterfalls in Japan, along with Fukuroda Falls in Ibaraki Prefecture and Nachi Falls in Wakayama Prefecture.
Beautiful in the snow, waterfall was amazing, would bring any guests that visit to see it!!! Went to the bottom and was glad we did. Such a great time!!
Breath taking view of the waterfall. The snow cover the surroundings made it so beautiful. If you want to go to the observatory and take pictures or th3 views of the waterfalls and surroundings, there is a fee. It's worth it!
