We start our journey at Yoshino-jingu Station and take a bus or taxi to Okusenbon. The ride offers beautiful views of the mountains and town, a perfect way to begin our day.
Our first visit is Kinpu Shrine, a sacred place that is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Surrounded by nature, it is a peaceful spot with a deep history.
Next, we explore Mikumari Shrine, a historic site from the 17th century. The shrine has remained unchanged for centuries, and inside, you can see old artifacts from that time.
At Hanayagura Viewpoint, we take a break to enjoy stunning views of the mountains and town. During cherry blossom season, this spot is especially breathtaking.
Yoshimizu Shrine is full of history, once home to Japan’s Southern Court in the 14th century. It also offers some of the best views of cherry blossoms in spring.
Nakasenbon is a lively shopping street in the mountains. We will stop here for lunch and explore small shops selling local snacks, souvenirs, and crafts.
Our last stop is Kinpusenji Temple, a famous Buddhist site connected to the monk Kukai from the 9th century. This peaceful temple is a great place to end our tour.
After a full day of exploring, we will make our way back, bringing home wonderful memories of Yoshino.
