We had so much fun!!
We came here for a day while in Tokyo. We are a couple in our 30s and we really like rides. Lots of the rides in Disney Sea are aimed for people a little older - nothing ‘white knuckle’ apart from the Tower of Terror, but there are a few roller coasters and more ‘action’ rides. For younger children I believe the normal Disney park is better, so do your research.
We managed to get on so many rides using
Fast passes and also queuing. The app tells you live queue times so you can head to places that are quieter. We did Tower of Terror twice, Indiana Jones, Sinbad, journey to the centre of the earth, 20,000 leagues under the sea, soaring, aquatopia, steamer ship, Venetian gondola, raging spirits, flying carpets…we even managed time for lunch in the cafe Portofino and a cocktail in the SS Columbia.
You can see and do so much if you arrive early, plan using the app and use fast passes sensibly.
The theming was exceptional, even compared to Florida Disney. Also compared to other parks, everything felt so civilised. Queues were orderly and well-organised. There was no litter. Everyone was super friendly. We loved it!
Lastly don’t forget your Minnie and mickey mouse ears - you will be the odd one out if you don’t have any!!
Arabian Coast and Mermaid Lagoon…
…are by FAR the two best areas in any theme park I have ever visited. Not in terms of rides but for how they look, they are both incredible to wander round. Our daughter LOVED played in the indoor Mermaid Lagoon, it’s a blessing for young kids and as an Aladdin fan, I could not get enough of their version of Agrabah. Better than Dubai, genuinely. I really want to give the park 5* just for those areas, plus how fantastic the others looked, but in truth this park suffers from the exact same problems as Disneyland Tokyo next door: way too many people for too few rides. It would be perhaps only a little harsh to describe this park as one giant queue yet the waiting times today were 170 minutes for two of the rides (‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ and ‘Soaring’) at around 4pm when we left, which is just insane. People were queueing to get into the queueing area, which took away space from everyone else moving around. Also, and maybe this is a post-Covid things, lots of shows were not running, placing even more pressure on rides and reducing the options further for families.
