Totally recommend, but...
Can I rate a 4.5? Pick up went smoothly from Haneda. I was traveling with two other people and we all hooked up to the wifi easily. We had a strong signal pretty much the entire time, with service only dropping while hiking along Nakasendo (totally reasonable and way better than I expected). Device would generally last from 7am to 5pm or so before charging, not too shabby.
Knocking off a point because we purchased the unlimited plan, but the service choked our usage at 3GB pretty much every day. You can get by on 3GB for sure, but know that it's not unlimited as advertised.
Perfect!
本当にすごいですよ。必要なものです。
We rented a Pocket WiFi from Ninja WiFi on both of our trips to Japan (via the Haneda Office) and it worked flawlessly each time. I would honestly say that this it's an essential purchase especially if you need Internet access on more than one device.
We had two iPads, an iPhone and an Android phone using it constantly and it never once failed. Obviously if you are using it all day away from a charging point you should take a USB Powerbank as the battery might not get you through the whole day if it's being used constantly but these are so cheap to buy it's hardly an issue. Looks like this is a free service now so that's even better.
The staff were helpful and friendly and were always very patient with my awful Japanese どうもありがとうございます。
The only tiny negative (and it's not Ninja WiFi's fault) is that I booked it through the JRPass.com site and a day's rental is morning to night NOT morning to next morning. As a result we booked it for a day less than we needed. However we got a free extension from JRPass.com and Ninja WiFi were very understanding. Just worth watching out for.
Thoroughly recommended and we'll definitely book one again on our next visit.
何卒宜しくお願いします。
