Sure it’s a tourist attraction, but it’s still a “must see” location. I went during the afternoon after my morning visit to Universal Studios and it was an easy commute via train. I purchased an admission ticket in advance online which I recommend to anyone planning to visit. There may not be a long line for admission depending on which time you visit, but having a ticket in advance is just less hassle. Since it was during the day time, the escalators weren’t lit up with the blue lighting you may see on social media posts (I recommend going during the evening if you want photos of it illuminated). The views were breathtaking, you even get to go outside on the skywalk for an incredible view of Osaka. While inside the sky building, there is room that provides historical context/timeline on the development and construction of the sky building - which is a must if you’re curious about learning history. Overall - it’s an amazing architecture design to view, there’s a fascinating history behind it, and you’ll capture great photos during your visit!

I visited the Umeda Sky Building on New Year's Day, and it was a great experience. When I arrived in the morning, there weren’t many people, but when I was about to leave, I noticed a long line forming, so I think it gets quite busy in the afternoon. If you want to avoid the wait, I recommend coming early. The view of Osaka from the rooftop is absolutely stunning – definitely worth the visit! There's also a coffee shop up there where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. When I visited, I didn’t have a reservation; I simply walked in and was able to go directly to the building and rooftop. It's a must-visit spot when you're in Osaka. The staff was welcoming and professional, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend it!"
Visited this place with a advanced booked ticket.
It was a breeze entering the place with tickets bought in advanced. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Lots of meaningful explanations on the structure of the building was built back then.
Place was clean but crowded at the café.
Scenery was beautiful and it was worth it!

The Umeda Sky Building is a popular tourist attraction, known for its architectural innovation and as a symbol of Osaka's modernization. Visitors can enjoy the observatory, dine in various restaurants, and explore the urban garden, making it a multifaceted destination in the heart of the city.

A fun attraction to visit while in Osaka! It gives you a nice view of the northern skyline in Osaka.
The architecture of the building is also a marvel. We spent abt 2 hours here. The open air observatory at the top is rare for Japan skyscraper observatory- and its well worth it.
We recommend buying your ticket online. Once you do - you'll still need to line up with everyone else to take the elevators up to the top where you officially enter the observatory. Having an online ticket cuts down the time slightly.
