I like how a lot of the shopping streets in Japan are covered for the convenience of the shoppers. This street is near to the more popular Nishiki Market but it is a nice change from Nishiki as the alley is wider, brighter and less crowded. There is a nice variety of shops here from clothing stores to fast foods. Shinkyogoku is another shopping arcade which runs parallel to Teramachi street.

it’s a good street to go shopping, however, many shops close relatively early

It's crowded. Stores are small. Prices are on the high end because tourists buy them. It's OK to visit, especially when it's raining.

Fantastic shopping street. So big it would take you all day to get round it. Lots of lovely shops and places to eat.
