What other travelers are saying about Negishi Forest Park
For English speakers, it is a great place to see cherry blossoms! Definitely come during springtime but it's a nice nature park during other seasons. Great walking/jogging loops and have an area separate for kids playground and play area. You can bring your own mat and tent to set up to look at the Sakura trees.
During peak season it can get crowded but there is plenty of space to find a spot to lay down your stuff.
Plenty of public bathrooms and vending machines too.
Parking may be a bit tough so try to avoid driving if possible but there is a good rotation of cars and you may find a space.
All in all, worth checking out to get some fresh air.
As a foreigner visiting Japan, my visit to Negishi Forest Park was a great way to interact with friendly locals, enjoy the Sakura and enjoy a beautiful walk away from city crowds. Worth a visit.
A nice wide open park with plenty of space for kids to run and play, picnicking, etc.
Especially appealing during cherry blossom season in April.
There is nice trail around the perimeter of the park that is very popular with joggers.
I accidently found this park on google map and decided to take a look. Turned out it's a perfect place for Hanami (admiring cherry blossom). The expanse of the area is ample, so there's no need to fret about finding a spot to perch or pitch your tent. Furthermore, the cherry blossoms in that location are breathtakingly beautiful, making it an ideal place for a group of freinds or families to relax and unwind.
However when I arrived at around 12:30am the parking lots are already full. You might need to plan your parking ahead to avoid wasting time looking for spot.
Motorcycle and bicyle parking space available, also is free of charge.
Key attractions include the expansive central lawn, cherry blossom trees, a plum grove, a pond, and a former horse-racing track. The park also has a small animal area with ponies and rabbits.
While the park itself does not have full-service restaurants, there are vending machines and kiosks that offer snacks and beverages. Many visitors bring their own food for picnics.
The park is accessible via public transportation. Visitors can take the JR Negishi Line to Negishi Station and then walk to the park. Buses and taxis also service the area.
