What other travelers are saying about Kiroro Resort

I got a two day pass with ski rentals. The total came out to about $200, so $100 per day. You can’t even ski without rentals for that price in most places in the U.S. I also used their bus service to get there from Sapporo and back. Accommodations at the resort were expensive, so it was an easy way to save money. The bus service is prompt and efficient. The snow was a dream, and all the lifts were open during my two days there. As you can see from the photos, there were no crowds, which made the skiing even better. On the first day, the visibility was great, and you could see the Sea of Japan from the summit. Absolutely stunning. All the workers were kind and friendly. The food was okay, but I wasn’t there for the food anyways.

Kiroro has amazing powder snow! It’s really soft and fluffy. When we visited, it was snowing, which made skiing even more fun. However, there aren’t many green routes, so beginners might find it a bit boring at times. The downside for me was the food—it wasn’t great, even the ramen, which I expected to be good, was disappointing. But one thing I really liked was that it wasn’t too crowded, making the experience much more enjoyable!

Well groomed slopes, interesting runs. The new gondola that doesn't serve any real purpose, slow and not connected to any slope. Hiking up the hill to get to the lifts and gondola... Not a real ski-in/ski-out. Mediocre food offerings and expensive, don't even give you complimentary water fountain for such expensive lift tickets. Expensive rentals and don't even allow you to try on sizes the night before for the next day pickup, have to pay EXTRAs for that service!!! Sunrise was 7am and the lifts only operate at 9am! Why not start earlier progressively as the day gets longer, more money to be made! The consolation of above all, mother nature bless with lots of JaPow. It's only worth it if there's heavy snowfall. Hence expensive lift tickets. Day trip is best option, over priced accommodations on the mountain.

Nice place to take my first ski. Wasn't that crowded (ps i was there at mid Dec). Good services everywhere. Can rent gear and wear set. Need to bring or buy your own gloves and beanie.

Resort is nice and all. Closing of the lifts is unacceptable. Yesterday top lifts were closed due to wind, ok got it. Today, we bought tickets online, and we reached the resort, and only 3 lifts open. The rest closed due to snow clearance. Would be helpful to post online that you will not open the top lifts since you knew from the day before. Snow clearance ? I understand it snowed but only around 30 cm that night. You could have started to snow clear on one top lift and opened it at noon, for example. To ease the queues on the bottom lift. You had time and resources to perfectly groom the closed runs but not to clear snow ? I sense greed of the west in this resort.
