Review of Cape Zanpa, Okinawa
Cape Zanpa is a scenic coastal destination on the western edge of Okinawa, known for its dramatic cliffs, picturesque lighthouse, and panoramic ocean views. The 30-meter-high lighthouse offers a stunning vantage point, especially at sunset. The rugged coastline, with waves crashing against the cliffs, adds to the natural beauty, making it perfect for photography.
In addition to sightseeing, the area has walking paths, a small park with shisa statues, and beach access nearby. There are food stalls and souvenir shops to explore as well. Cape Zanpa is a great spot for nature lovers and an easy half-day trip from Naha.
Came here towards end Oct 2024. Weather was a bit erratic. Nice views of the Cape and spent about 1 hour slowly walking and enjoying the view. We had lunch here too. Food was reasonable nice. You can order from different stalls so you have a great variety. The Okiniwan Doughnut deserve a shout out. Something unique. Ample parking space. ¥100 per person admission fee.
Beautiful scenery. Unblock view. Easy car parking. Its crowded during the weekend. Another highlight was the Lighthouse. The rocks were pretty sharp hence a thicker sole shoe will be preferred if you want to climb the rocks to access the edge of the cliff to have a closer look of the sea.
It's a nice location with breathtaking views across the cape of volcanic formed rocks. This means the rocks are pretty sharp if you are walking on it so do be careful. The lighthouse is scenic and pretty tall too! Requires a ticket to go up.
There's a funky ice cream bus near the entrance of the park (yes a real bus) which is pretty cool too!
