Beautiful park!
The park is well maintained and near a subway station. It definitely worth going over the bridges to cross the lake (each bridge is different). You can also rent a goose shaped pedal boat!🪿
A very accessible park in the city center where you can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or non-alcoholic fruit punch by the lake. As expected, the lake is clean and you can easily find different kind of aquatic birds and big koi (Japan crap) in it.
It was fall season when we went there. 15 degree C, light breeze, blue sky, quiet environment, etc, composed a picturesque attraction for locals and visitors.
If they add a few more shades or covering area along the walking path of the lake, the place would be even better as I would imagine it could be very hot during summer.
Located about two minutes walk from exit number 3 of the Ohori Park subway station. Ohori park has an interesting design: a wide promenade around the perimeter with a narrow island walking path in the middle.
There are several different scenes to see, a lot of wildlife, and many benches to sit down and enjoy the view.
On the South side, there is a small Japanese garden which is a must see. To the East there is the Fukuoka Castle Ruins.
There are also a few cafes around the perimeter as well as a place to rent boats.
A picturesque spot where you can enjoy the view of the lake.
Tons of swan-shaped paddle boats in the lake. You can rent them but they're was a big line up when we visited.
Nice pedestrian bridge that you can walk on to get to the middle of the lake.
A quick walk from the Fukuoka Castle Ruins area. Free to visit.
Ohori Park is a must-visit! The lake is incredibly clean, and the surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing walk or jog, and we noticed many people running along the path.
The park is also conveniently located near the Fukuoka Art Museum, making it a great spot to explore after enjoying the museum.
We strolled through the park in the chilly air, which added a refreshing vibe to the experience. The abundance of birds around the lake made it even more enjoyable and lively.
Overall, it was a fun and serene experience—highly recommended for anyone visiting Fukuoka!
