What other travelers are saying about Kushida Shrine
Definitely worth checking it out.
- very accessible as it’s right next to the subway station.
- small but beautifully well maintained
- public toilet available
- near Mangyoji and Tochoji temples
Beautiful and peaceful shrine here in Fukuoka, it absolutely deserves a visit! I was really impressed to see the thing(sorry I don't know the specific name) that they carry during the festival.
A must-visit shrine in Hakata old town. It is very close to Kushida Shrine station, and Kawabata shopping street. The big float used during the Gion Yamakasa festival is displayed here, which is a sight to behold. There was some construction going on in the shrine grounds, so I was not able to explore much.
Goshuin is available at an office-like building beside the main shrine area.
Beautiful little shrine that also houses a gigantic float that they use for festivals. I have no idea how the guys that carry it are able to but good on them. I happened to catch a service going on by the priest for two young girls and it was very informative. The two lovely shrine maidens also were helpful with choosing charms to bring back to friends back in the States.
