Jomonsugi Cedar

Jomonsugi Cedar is a giant ancient tree located on Yakushima Island. This tree is believed to be over 7,000 years old, making it one of the oldest trees in Japan and possibly the world. Jomonsugi's massive trunk has a circumference of about 16 meters, and its height reaches 25 meters. The tree is named after the Jomon period, a time in Japanese history when pottery-making began, reflecting its incredible age.
