What other travelers are saying about Bios no Oka (Bios on the Hill)

A Short and Sweet Adventure – Totally Worth It! I spent a lovely day at BIOS Hill during a trip to Okinawa, and it was such a beautiful and worthwhile experience. Even though it was quite hot, the orchid tour was peaceful, short, and absolutely charming. While I didn’t understand the Japanese narration, the beauty of the surroundings spoke for itself. One of the highlights was seeing the water buffalo and enjoying a performance by a traditional Ryukyuan dancer — such a special cultural touch. I also purchased a gorgeous orchid to gift to my friend I was visiting, which felt like the perfect souvenir. While I didn’t bring any kids, I could definitely see it being a great spot for families — interactive, gentle, and full of nature. If you’re looking for a relaxing, culturally rich half-day adventure, I highly recommend BIOS Hill!

Yen💴 Only!! It is 1800¥ per an adult. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday!! The park is a good size of walking and exploring variety of paths. The boat ride comes with the ticket so we just got on for a small rover tour. Tour is done in Japanese only. It came with information in English on a paper. We saw a water Buffalo and an eisa dancer. The park has a fun play area with toys,, things to climb, pet and feed goats and a pig! Followed many trails found cool spots to chill and swings!! I enjoyed walks through the jungle! Plenty of parking on site. Signs in japanese and English. Staff are super friendly!!!

Fifteen years ago, when my children were young, I visited Bios Hill in Okinawa, and it remained a very good memory. I revisited Bios Hill in 2025, and maintained the concept of a place where I met the life of nature on a large site, and managed the natural scenery well. I listened to the commentary on a small cruise ship, looked at the animals and plants of the lake, walked through the natural garden. You can tour the lakes and subtropical forests by cruise or canoe, observe animals and plants closely, and communicate with them

Took a boat ride and hopped on a water buffalo cart—such a unique experience! There’s a bit of an entrance fee, but it’s totally worth it. The place was super quiet, probably because of the cloudy weather. It's a well-kept, immersive botanical garden and farm!

Beautiful place to walk. We were blessed with overcast and a little rain to cool us off. The boat tours focus on local plants and history. Overall, it's a great place for kids. It's kinda expensive, but it's worth visiting at least once.
