Stop At: Kusasenrigahama. "Grazing lands and volcanic activity"
This stunning must-see geosite features a rain-fed lagoon and a 785,000-square-meter grassland growing inside an inactive crater in the Mt. Eboshi foothills. It's an ideal spot for a stroll alongside the cows and horses that graze quietly while Mt. Nakadake emits smoke in the distance. Another favorite pastime is horseback riding through the grasslands.

Stop At: Volcano Museum
The Aso Volcano Museum is located right next to Kusasenri-ga-hama. The museum, which houses a significant collection of objects relating to the volcano, is an ideal site to learn more about the region's history. Large dioramas depicting the origin of Aso Volcano, as well as exhibitions on volcanoes from throughout the world, are among the displays. The museum is also the only place where you can see real-time footage of Nakadake Crater captured by a newly installed camera system.
