What other travelers are saying about Ukimido Pavilion
Free to enter. I rode an ebike here and had a whole 15 minutes for myself at the gazebo. Most tourists walk around the 1st park with rhe deers so it's more quiet and peaceful here. Great place to rest and hide from the summer heat.
We came in June and there were no people (30°C weather🌡️). There was an ancient guardian deer🦌very calm and sweet welcoming the visitors. She let us touch her. Love this place!
*There's a vending machine at the entrance if you're visiting on a hot summer day.🧊
It's an interesting pavillion in the middle of the water not far from Nara Park. We came during Golden Week and all the seats are full of people taking a rest, so it's very hard to take picture of the interior. We can also rent paddle boats nearby for some attractions.
Spring (for cherry blossoms) and autumn (for fall foliage) are the most picturesque times. However, it offers tranquil beauty throughout the year.
It's accessible by public transport from Kyoto or Otsu via train and bus. Visitors should alight at the nearest station and take a local bus or walk to reach the pavilion.
Seasonal events, particularly during cherry blossom season and autumn leaf season, may be held in the area. These include light-up events that showcase the pavilion and its surroundings in a different light.
Yes, photography is allowed and encouraged, but visitors are asked to respect the peace and privacy of any worshippers or ceremonies that might be taking place.
