What other travelers are saying about Shin-Hotaka Ropeway
I highly recommend visiting on a sunny day. The view is magnificent. There are two sections that require separate payments. The second section is longer and more expensive. What makes this gondola unique is that it is double-decker, and you can choose which one to go up with. I tried both and can assure you that there is no difference. The double-decker can only be seen from the outside. Once you board, it is the same, but the upper one is more crowded, so there is no place near the window to see the view. I recommend taking the lower deck so that you face less crowd and have a better chance of seeing the view. There are cafes and restaurants on the mountain. The viewpoint deck is spacious and offers a great view.
A great place for sightseeing the mountain ranges of Japan from the top, while riding the ropeway to gwt to the rooftop & admiring the wondorful views. It also has souvenir shops to buy in the area. The queue can be very long, especially when climbing down the ropeway.
Stunning mountain view wait for you at the top, you need to pay ¥3,300 per pax for round trip ticket. I arrived there nearly close time, be able to get the last round at 16:00 and come back from the top at 16:45. Spend only 15 mins up there. Please be prepared and come here a bit early. The end of may, there's snow at the top of the mountain ! ⛄️
A breathtaking view at the top of the mountain for a steep price!
Unless you’re going to hike the mountain range or love the site of the Japanese Alps, then you might not want to take a bus or drive out to an isolated location. Then you’d need to pay ¥2,000 to get to the top of the rope way.
All in all, not a bad experience.
Overpriced and disappointing. The second car doesnt even have proper anti fog coatings on the windows and the weather has to be literally perfect to take good photos. The stations themselves offer nothing of interest for a rainy day. I would only go there if you plan on starting a hike in the mountains. Huge disappointment!
