Seibu Rindo Forest Path is a stunning and scenic route on Yakushima Island. This narrow, winding road stretches for about 15 kilometers through some of the island's most untouched natural landscapes. The path takes you deep into a lush, ancient forest filled with towering cedar trees, dense undergrowth, and vibrant mosses.

Driving or walking along Seibu Rindo is like stepping into a magical world. The forest canopy overhead is thick, with sunlight filtering through the leaves, casting dappled light on the forest floor. The path is known for its rich biodiversity, with a variety of plant and animal species, including the Yakushima macaque and the Yaku deer, which are often seen wandering freely.

One of the unique features of the Seibu Rindo Forest Path is its peaceful and almost mystical atmosphere. The road is quiet, and the air is fresh and filled with the earthy scent of the forest. It's a perfect place for nature lovers and photographers, offering countless opportunities to capture the beauty of Yakushima's wild landscape.

What other travelers are saying about Seibu Rindo Forest Path

The road on the west side of Yakushima island is crossing the wild life park. You'll see the deer and the monkeys without hiking. Great road trip to do. Just be careful the road is really narrow.
What a beautiful road to visit in Yakushima! So peaceful and you really do get to see monkeys & deer. Definitely rent a car and drive around this area if you can!

Beautiful coastal drive complete with narrow roads, tropical foliage, a deer and monkey or two. It takes maybe an hour or so to drive it, so take your time and enjoy the drive.

Felt like a safari, we saw so many monkeys and just a few deers - look carefully, they blend in the background not like the monkeys who take up the whole roads 😂🐒 In November 2023, a part of the road was closed (like at the middle so you can access and see animals from south or north)
