What other travelers are saying about Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum
Nice Tadeo Ando building with small but intetesting collection of Spanish art. Interiors are also beautiful. If you don't want to visit the museum you can just have coffee in the cafeyatia with a nice view.
The building itself looks great and the scenery on the roof garden is beautiful as well. Did not visit any of the exhibitions as most Japanese museums do not have English description. Didn’t bother to try
Amazing architecture. Very beautiful in the evening. Must walk up and down, out and in, to appreciate the detail of stairs, windows, light and shadow, and the view on the balcony.
Enjoy the sunset.
The entrance is free but some special exhibitions charge.
As someone who does not speak Japanese, you will not be able to read 90% of anything. Also in the parts that don’t allow photos, anytime I tried to take out Google translate to read the Japanese words, they stopped me thinking I was taking photos. Then only the temporary and special exhibitions were open so I don’t know why I paid for the base ticket if none of the public gallery was open. The whole thing took 15-20 mins to walk through because I couldn’t read anything. At least the rooftop space is pretty but not worth the price of admission
