What other travelers are saying about Kuromon Ichiba Market
Kuromon Market is a lively spot with plenty of shops to explore and a wide variety of fresh seafood. From sushi, grilled crab, and oysters to unique street food, it’s a great place for food lovers to experience authentic Japanese flavors. Prices can be on the expensive side, especially for seafood, but the quality is excellent. The market is also fun to walk around since it has many stalls selling not just food but also souvenirs and local goods. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Osaka!
Kuromon Market is a great choice for Japanese seafood cuisine along with some signature local beef, pork and chicken dishes. The fusion of aromatic Asian condiments and local savory ingredients all add up to the great dining experience. The general ambiance of the market is extraordinary. To a considerable extent, it helped alleviate my pains and improve my satiety, on that day.
Another so called must go tourist place in Osaka. A lot of tourists here. And all the prices are also very touristy. Well, its willing seller, willing buyer. Most of the stalls selling seafood and food stuff.
Saw some puffer fish slices, didn't dare to try. Again, it was pack with tourists the time we went during summer. If you never been there, why not.. but once is enough.
I love visiting markets during trips, and this one is definitely on the touristy side, but with plenty of street food to try.
We had some oden, which was warm, satisfying, and a delicious street food. The award-winning melon and milk ice cream shop was a real highlight, the milk ice cream was impressively good, even surpass those many in Hokkaido.
We also tried grilled scallop, which was just okay. The giant cracker was our least favorite, fun for photos but too hard to enjoy, and we gave up after a few bites.
It was less crowded than I expected during our visit in late July in the morning.
Overall, it is worth visiting at least once.
We visited Kuromon Ichiba Market on a Saturday afternoon after lunch. It wasn't too crowded, as many stalls were starting to close, but it was still a great experience!
There are so many fresh seafood and local food options and the best part is that many stalls will prepare, cook, and serve the food to you right on the spot. Everything looked delicious and fresh.
It would probably be even more lively earlier in the day, but we still enjoyed wandering around and tasting a few things. A must-visit for food lovers when in Osaka!
