What other travelers are saying about Kobe Harborland

This place is such a great spot to hang out, whether you’re with family or just enjoying the view. The ferris wheel is definitely a highlight—riding it at sunset gives you an amazing view of the city and the water. The whole area has a fun, laid-back vibe, with plenty of space to walk around and take it all in. It’s also super family-friendly, with lots to do for kids and adults alike. There are street performers, little shops, and food stands, so there’s always something happening. Whether you’re just relaxing by the water or checking out the rides, it’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening.
Bad mistake. I came here on a weekend, and it seemed that the whole of Japan was congregated here because it was so crowded you couldn't walk in a straight line. There were many couples, more so than families. It made me feel as if this is the only place in Japan for couples to go for dates. Everybody stopped to take photos every now and then. We had no time to take a proper lunch. So we were hungry and we were thinking of beating the evening crowd by rushing to the shopping centre nearby, but the whole route there was very, very crowded and congested. It did not matter that we started making our way to the shopping centre at 4:30. It was already congested everywhere. We couldn't go any faster, even if we wanted to. It seems that the whole of Japan started to think about eating dinner at around 4:30 p.m. huh? Think twice before you come here on a weekend.

This was the first spot we decided to visit on our short 2 day trip to Kobe. East access from the subway. We were fortunate enough to visit on a beautiful sunny day. Super clean attraction as usual and the pier was very well designed. A lot of eateries around as well as a small kid’s play are. ( pay to play ) Definitely worth a visit especially if the weather permits.

It’s a nice harbour with a lot of options for food and shopping. We were lucky enough to be there during the firework festival. Highly recommended!

A lovely area for a stroll. This iconic spot in Kobe offers everything from shopping, to restaurants and amusement facilities. It is kid friendly as well. Visitors can also enter the Kobe Port Tower with 1200¥ admission fee. This landmark tower is 108 m high and boasts a panoramic 360-degree view of the Kobe harbor area. The top-floor observation room offers unrivaled views of Kobe's seafront and urban centers amidst the dramatic backdrop of the Rokko mountain range.
