What other travelers are saying about Katsurahama Beach
Beautiful and well maintained beach with beautiful pebbles rather than sand. The area has a few things to walk around and see. Would recommend stopping in and enjoying the sea breeze here!
We have a great day exploring the beach and the path in the hills, finally stopping at the museum to Ryoma Sakamoto. He was a big part of Japanese history and helped steer Japan into the country it is today.
I came here to see the commemorative statue of Sakamoto Ryoma and the museum dedicated to him. The beach is free and so is the statue. The beach itself is amazingly clean and you can see and hear the crashing waves clearly. There is also a short cut through the forest to reach the museum. If you are coming via My-U Bus and prefer walking down slopes than up, then you might want to drop at the museum first, visit it and make your way down.
Bought the 1-day pass (1300yen). I would say neutral for the place. It was mentioned on one of the signage that it resembles Enoshima thus known as Tosa Enoshima? Erm, I think the feeling is totally different. But worth to take a deep breathe of the ocean and a break from the city to chill here or little picnic.
