Stop At: Taima-dera Temple

Taima-dera was constructed in 612 by Imperial Prince Maroko, brother of the legendary Prince Shotoku, while all the burgs in the surrounding area served as Japan's capital one after the other.

The major object of adoration is Yakushi, the healing Buddha, but the main attraction is the Taima Mandala, which depicts the Pure Land's splendor.
