What other travelers are saying about The Yamazaki Mazak Museum of Art

The collection is fantastic but what's up with the audio English guide? It's the most dumb dumb guide I've ever heard. There's like a brilliant captivating abstract piece that's done with wild inks I've never seen in some hybrid neo modern impressionist motif and the guide is like "a blue sky and a red house is depicted on an open field! The house is a common 19th century cottage from the Scottish Highlands in the center of the frame. Puffs of smoke pour out the chimney. *Beep*" And you're like "wait what? That's it?!" It's like a brilliant exercise in trying to miss as much as possible yet still arguably be accurate. Just replace it, instead with interpretive experimental music for each work. That'd be amazing
I really enjoyed going here, and it was well worth the 1000¥ to go. Had a wonderful display of French art and furniture. Audio in English included with tour. My only improvement would be that on the 4th floor numbers are actually in order.

Had a brilliant experience here. Admission comes with a free audio tour, which has been done really well. Learnt a lot and will definitely be back. You aren't allowed to take photos of a few of the paintings. This caught me out once, and the lady had to stop me 😬

Small private museum in Nagoya with a wonderful collection of masterpieces of French furniture (end 19th and early 20th century) and paintings (17th through 20th century). Temporary exhibitions are also organized throughout the year. Quite and enjoyable atmosphere.
