This is an ancient temple that was founded in 597. It is said that it began when a fisherman named Jinme Ryumaro brought up a purple-gold statue of St. Kannon from the sea and built a temple to enshrine it. After that, it became an imperial temple, and there are countless historical figures who were involved in the rise of this temple, including Emperor Tenchi/Temmu, Yoritomo, Kajiwara Kagetoki, Ippen, Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu. It is said that this temple and its temple town, located on the Kamikaido road that runs from Biwajima to Tsushima, were very crowded. Along the road from Jinmeji Station to the temple, a little bit of the atmosphere of the highway remains.

I went there to explore the Aichi area.
It's so famous that it's even been given a place name, and although I've been there several times, this was my first time to actually pay a visit. A person who appeared to be a female chief priest politely gave us a stamp. thank you very much. My wife was very happy to see the large flock of pigeons.
I visited the temple and received two types of Goshuin, the main image of the temple and the Fudo-san stamp.
The principal image, Sho Kanzeon Bodhisattva, is the 16th of the 33 Kannons in Owari and one of the 4 Kannons of Owari.
It is also the 5th temple of the Tokai Thirty-Six Fudoson Temples.
