Built in 1346 and looking just as it did in 1618, the castle is a must-see with its impressive wooden keep and fascinating history.

Next, we’ll head to Kobe, a city full of charm and energy. With mountains to the north and the sea to the south, it’s the perfect mix of nature and city life. We’ll walk and use public transport to visit Kobe’s highlights, including the European district, the lively city center, the Chinese quarter, and the beautiful port. It’s a fun and relaxing way to see two very different sides of Japan in one day!

We’ll start our day at the famous Himeji Castle, often called the "White Heron Castle" because of its elegant white design. This castle, dating back to the 14th century, is one of Japan's few remaining original castles. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with history, from its defensive structures to its secret escape routes. You’ll explore the wooden interiors and climb up to the top for stunning views of Himeji City.

Lunch at Piole Himeji

Duration: 1 hour

After our castle visit, we’ll stop for lunch at Piole Himeji, a popular shopping and dining area right near the station. You can choose from a variety of local and international food options (approx. 2,000 JPY per person, not included). This is a great time to relax and recharge for the second half of the day.

Kobe Sannomiya District

Duration: 1 hour

Next, we’ll take a short trip to Kobe’s bustling Sannomiya District, the city’s main hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment. This area is known for its modern vibe, trendy shops, and delicious Kobe beef restaurants. It’s the perfect place to soak up the energy of Kobe and get a taste of its urban culture.

Kitanocho European Town

From Sannomiya, we’ll head to the Kitano district, a historic neighborhood filled with charming European-style houses. These old residences were built by foreign merchants and diplomats in the late 19th century. You’ll love the quiet streets, beautiful architecture, and panoramic views of the city.
