A LASTING IMPRESSION OF JAPANESE CULTURE.
there are many reasons to take a day strolling around itsukushima island [the prominent 'floating' tori certainly draws a crowd looking for 'selfies'] - but tucked away in a cul de sac a few hundred meters away from the jetties is a peaceful / quiet / unpretentious building that affords an opportunity to savor the experience of being introduced to a genuine tea ceremony - the kimono attire is a must if you really wish to immerse yourself in this ancient practice - patient guidance is politely provided by both the instructor & interpreter [you will make a few errors = nothing to be embarrassed about] & if you 'go with the flow' you will enjoy the exercise all the more - the serenity of the setting certainly provides for an enjoyable / reflective pause from your usual hectic [or humdrum] world - as i am 'wont to say' [google it!] = "well worth the price of admission" - and while you are there do take a little time to appreciate the beauty of the attached gardens
