Visited on Sunday, December 2024 at around 5pm.
Built between the end of the Meiji period and the beginning of the Taisho period.
The Red Brick Warehouse, a beloved symbol of Yokohama Port, was renovated in 2002.
Two three-story brick buildings stand here.
A modern industrial heritage site, where you can still see the original appearance of the time in the iron doors, the preserved staircase with glass-covered ramps for loading and unloading luggage (Building No. 1), and the corrugated iron ceiling (Building No. 2).
Inside the Red Brick Warehouse, there were rows of stylish shops. There were stylish general stores and restaurants, and it was bustling with people.
It was Christmas season that day, so outside there were booths for Christmas illuminations and beer gardens. You have to wait in line for about 40 minutes to enter the booths, and you can enter for ¥500 per person. Of course, children are welcome. Until December 6th, admission is free for high school students and up.
When it gets dark, the Red Brick Warehouse is lit up, creating a very adult atmosphere.
