Ruined the eating plan for the day
This is a walking and eating tour of the market and an introduction to some of the basics of Japanese food preparation like the making of dashi stock and fish sushi cutting.
The tour was all good, well organized and our guide Sean was comical and entertaining. Ask him about the quality of the fish from the sushi vending machine....The Wagyu beef skewers were as good as any we've had and thankfully, there was no salmon on the sushi offered.
So why not 5 stars?
So the tour starts at 8:30 am, I'm not sure how many jet lagged tourists are ready to chow on a perfectly grilled and seasoned A5 D11 Wagyu skewer at 9:30 or even at 10:00 am, I mean that is some of the heaviest, fattiest most melt in your mouth with juices spilling out meat ever. Continue with a whole bunch of other savory samples and finish with sashimi well before lunch time.
Now what do you eat for the rest of the damned day, it is ruined....ok, still 5 stars, but be warned, maybe go for the 11 am tour instead of the 8:30 tour, but then I understand the market basically closes by 2pm.......like I said, eating day ruined....
The place itself is admitted a tourist trap, but hey if they are chumming with Wagyu, Otoro, and entertainment, hook away.
