Zenrinji Eikando
Very quiet ancient Pure Land sect temple
There are not many tourists, and the maple leaves are dense (Japanese-style wooden buildings are scattered in the maple forest, it must be beautiful in late autumn)
The famous statue of Amitabha looking back, which is very Zen-like, is right here. It is said that when the Zen master in the temple was meditating, he suddenly saw Amitabha walking down. The Zen master was surprised and stood up to bow before him, but failed to follow. Unfortunately, the Buddha looked back and said. "It's too late, I've been waiting for you for thousands of years...", a pun, just like the sentient beings who are still in reincarnation.
