8:40 AM: Gathering at JR Kyoto Station

Begin your adventure by joining us at the Kyoto Sightseeing Bus Terminal, located at the Karasuma Exit of JR Kyoto Station. Make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes early to exchange your voucher for a boarding ticket. Keep in mind that neither mobile nor paper vouchers will allow you to board the bus, so be sure to give yourself some extra time for this important step.

9:00 AM: Sagano Romantic Train

We set off promptly from JR Kyoto Station, heading straight for the unforgettable experience on the “Sagano Romantic Train.” Prepare to be captivated for 23 mesmerizing minutes as you journey through the stunning Hozugawa Valley. Witness the cherry blossoms and vibrant greenery of spring, hear the summer cicadas and streams' soothing murmurs, and marvel at the autumn red leaves. Each season unfolds a new chapter of nature’s story.

Hozugawa River Boat Ride

Next, prepare for a thrilling 90-minute boat ride down a mountain stream, covering approximately 16km from Tamba Kameoka to the scenic delight that is Arashiyama. Before embarking, please check any participation restrictions. Also, rest assured that should the boat ride be canceled due to weather, we have alternative engaging plans to ensure your experience remains memorable.

Exploring Arashiyama

Upon arrival, you have 100 minutes to explore the many temples and famous sites in Sagano and Arashiyama area, renowned for their scenic beauty that changes with every season. Essentials to Know Before Booking

• Ensure you bring your mobile or printed voucher to avoid needing to buy an additional ticket on-site.

• Children are considered from ages 6 to 11, including 12-year-olds still in elementary school.

• Infants can join for free but will not have a reserved seat or meal. If a seat is required, the child’s fee applies.

• A multilingual earphone guide is available in English, Chinese, and Korean. This guide is to be used on the bus only and must be returned at the end of the tour.

• Life jackets are mandatory for all participants.

• If you are feeling unwell, please avoid boarding for the safety of all passengers.

• Wheelchair users must be accompanied by a helper and leave their wheelchairs at designated areas.

• A fee of 2,700 yen applies to children aged 4 to 6 years for the boat ride, payable upon arrival. Children under three and under 80cm tall ride free.
