We went to the cherry blossoms festival yesterday which included sakura illumination and numerous food stalls. The park is amazing, a perfect place to spend time with family or friends. Unfortunately the Sanada shrine was already closed, otherwise one can get there seasonal goshuin stamps and omikuji

Was lucky to catch the Sakura in full bloom! Really pretty! Ueda is generally much quieter than typical tourist spots in Japan & I quite liked that. :)

Mid March may not be the most ideal time to visit. Though it is nice to take a walk at the park. It shall be more interesting if we can visit the exhibition hall to learn more about the History of the city. Unfortunately, it was not open on the day we visit.

Must see in Ueda shi. A Lot of history and wonderful trees. And also the best Pokémon go spot in town. There is a museum, gift shop nearby, and a a baseball field next to the castle.
