What other travelers are saying about Shikisai no Oka (Hill of Seasonal Colors)
Although we went in Autumn, there were still some beautiful flowers to see.
It is not a huge place so you can walk around it easily.
Unfortunately no lavender as it is not the season for it.
We ate lunch upstairs and tried some venison which was quite nice.
The lavender ice cream is worth a try too!
The largest flower bed/park in Hokkaido (I believe). Need to pay to enter (unlike the other flower beds). Really beautiful with a wide variety of flowers. There's an alpaca farm inside the park' which requires extra fee on top of the entrance fee. A lot of tourists unsurprisingly, but not too crowded, still acceptable. If you only have time to go to one flower park for the view and photo taking, I would suggest this one.
The most breathtaking flower field I've ever seen! The hills are covered in neatly planted flowers, creating a stunning landscape.
I highly recommend renting a buggy, especially on a sunny day. If not, bring an umbrella and be prepared for a fair amount of walking. There’s also a visitor truck that tours the field, but it’s not as flexible as the buggy, which allows you to stop anywhere and anytime you like. They even offer helicopter tours.
Amazing flower garden spread over rolling hills. The entrance to the garden is top of a hill and provides an amazing vantage point over the whole garden. There's a wide range if flowers including lavender and sunflowers.
You can walk around, rent a golf cart and drive yourself or go on the tractor pulled carriages. The garden is easy to walk around despite being busy.
The garden parking costs ¥500 and entry to the garden costs ¥500 for an adult. Outside the garden entrance there is a soba restaurant, souvenir shop, food stalls, toilets and another restaurant that opens at 12.30.
It costs another ¥500 to see the alpacas.
The garden is stunning and well worth a visit.
Such a well-maintained and surreal place! Beautiful flowers and also very cute Alpacas nearby! Just one thing, there are clear instructions written "Do not step on the flower fields", but saw a lot of Chinese tourists not paying heed to this and breaking this. Maybe a bit more strictness in this will help!
