What other travelers are saying about Sapporo TV Tower
It is really pretty during autumn, especially with the amber and red foliage around the park. At night, it will be lighted up, making it a perfect photo spot. For a small fee, you can make your way up the tower!
I didn’t want to go up but the spouse did…
EXPERIENCE:
Located at the east end of Odori Park. A mutton BBQ eatery, souvenir shop and a jumping contraption adorn the tower’s footing.
For tickets to the 300-foot high observatory, head to the third level. Entry was 1000 Yen p/p. It’s not a spacious deck though views were good. But, a good chunk of the viewing windows were blocked by retail shelves, photo booths and vending machines. Such a waste!
OVERALL:
Worth seeing if you have extra time and are into high vantage points.
The Sapporo TV Tower offers a fantastic view of the city from its observation deck. The panoramic vistas of Sapporo and beyond are stunning, especially at sunset. The tower's retro charm adds to the experience, making it a must-visit attraction for tourists. We had some luck this Day and saw th funny mascot!
¥1,000 entry fee and you can either take the lift to go to the observatory deck or the 325 stairs. Gives you the view of Sapporo from Odori park. A little bit steep entry fee considering you have to pay ¥200 to use the binoculars or ¥1,000 to buy their photos on entry.
Another city view alternatives would be Mt Moiwa (¥2,100 cable car fee to the top) or Mt Maruyama (free but need to hike).
