I absolutely fell in love with this place. Since I’ve been in Japan, I’ve seen some beautiful spots, but nothing quite like this. The natural beauty here is beyond words, and the peacefulness you feel is something special. It’s the kind of place where you can just unwind and forget about everything. The views are incredible, and the calm atmosphere makes it the perfect escape from the busy city life. If you're looking to enjoy nature at its best and experience true peace, this is definitely the place to visit. I can’t recommend it enough!
Majestic Hotaka Mountain range from the Dale-sawa valley area in Kamikochi. It was an adventure to visit this place - they do not allow cars and only tour buses here!
If you drive, 🅿️ Parking is located about 7km from the entrance to the area - ¥1,400 fee. The local bus is ¥1,300 per person, one way. If you miss the bus because it’s stopped running, your only option is taking a cab and the charge is ¥5,200 one way. We stayed overnight in Kamikochi and the walk was about 20 mins from the bus to the hotel. I found it to be very difficult to visit this place unless of course you are part of bus tour which in that case you will need to deal with many tourist. The only advantage to staying in Kamikochi is being able to visit the bridge early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds of tourists.
Wow! This is the most enchanting place ive ever been here in Japan. It looks like im in the paradise. The place is like in Switzerland or New Zealand. The water is so cold and clear and the view of the bridge makes it even more elegant. The whole place is so relaxing and romantic. Everybody needs to take a bus from Sawando going to Kappa bashi bridge which is ¥1500 one way per head. You can also take a hiking trail way from the second stop going to Kappa bridge which is even more exciting.

The icon of Kamikōchi. You can get amazing mountain views here, no wonder there are many tourists taking picture here. There are shops around selling food and souvenirs. If you want to avoid the crowd, hike towards Myojin pond. The crowds will start hiking from Taishoike pond to kappa bridge.
