Introduction to Ikebana Art

In the first 10 minutes, immerse yourself in the intriguing world of Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arrangement. Discover how it differs from Western styles, particularly in its approach to space and asymmetry. This session provides insights into Ikebana's rich history and the significance of tools like the kenzan.

Selecting Your Botanicals

Then, spend 10 minutes at a Yanaka florist, selecting the ideal flowers and branches for your arrangement. This is your opportunity to choose botanicals that speak to you, focusing on seasonal availability and the color balance crucial to Ikebana.

Your Ikebana Creation

The next 50 minutes are dedicated to hands-on learning. You'll start by crafting an arrangement based on a predefined model to understand the basics. Our expert instructor will be there to guide you through each step, ensuring a supportive learning environment. Gradually, you'll progress to designing your own Ikebana arrangement, applying your newly learned skills and personal flair. Embrace the Ikebana principles of asymmetry and space, and at the end of the session, take home your beautiful creation.
