Day trip to Nikko
I would highly recommend the day trip to Nikko which is a beautiful town located about 2 hours from Tokyo. Afi was our driver and did a great job of picking us up on time (8:30) from our hotel and bringing us to the sites in Nikko. We had a clear and a little cold day which made it perfect to see the Lake, the top of the mountain by cable car, Kagen Falls, and imperial Villa and Tokegawa shrine complex. We had plenty of time to see everything and AFI was on WhatsApp if we were running behind or got done early to coordinate where the car would be. At each place, Afi let us know what to expect and where to purchase tickets (if needed) and then we did the sites on our own which is very easy
Wonderful day at Nikko.
We went as a family, our guide was Pomi, a very nice, attentive and helpful person. He took us to different places, explaining points of interest and recommending places to eat. The visit to the waterfall was very spectacular, and we were lucky enough to have snow on it, so we had a great day. We recommend it.
