What other travelers are saying about Sapporo TV Tower
Better seen from outside than in, for only 1k yen! It's got the time if you do. Great landmark, looks cool at night. What more do you need?
Shoot it from multiple angles at different times of the day to get the full tourist experience.
Best vantage point is either from the park with the ravine running through it, or the lookout point in the middle of an overhead street crossing.
Ticket here cost 1000yen for splendid view of Sapporo city, easily reasonable price. If you think that’s expensive then you have an issue lol.
Even coming to Hokkaido for second time, I still enjoyed leisure time up here. The view of Sapporo is a balance of city, mountains and nature, all together. Definitely a perfect spot to capture some time-lapse videos.
Staffs here also very lovely along with souvenir shop of Hokkaido’s goods. You may find cute little gift to take home.
What’s not to love about Sapporo TV tower?
It costs 1000¥ for an adult as of Jan 2025. The observation floor isn’t that big but it has a nice view. The windows could have been a little cleaner. The view from the lift was partly blocked by the stairs which was a pity. At night time, it is quite beautiful. There’s a small gift shop on the observation floor and a bigger one on the ticketing floor.
It feels like a must to visit an observation tower in any visiting city. So I went for it when it was the only day while the sky was remotely clear. The majority of the time, sapporo was snowing except the day I went up. It was purely by chance since the morning could be sunny while the afternoon could be ultra cloudy all of a sudden.
If you know the day and night are both clear sky, then it may be worth it to get the day and night entry ticket for viewing the city in a different perspective
If there is a long line up for the elevator, and if you are able to walk 3 floors, then just walk it since it doesn't take that long while the elevator could take a while.
Very typical tower, probably not needing to spend too much time up there. I'm not sure why they would keep a store up there to create a crowd while there is already a store on the way out on 3F.
Went for a top view of Odori Park during the Snow festival. The view was good. There is an option to walk down the staircase which provides a clearer view but be very very careful and hold the rails with both hands during the snow time. It becomes very slippery.
