Beautiful grounds with many cherry trees and a variety of flowers. Take the time to walk to the Shinto shrine. Behind and to the side are several gravesites of the Matsumae daimo. Note there are stairs to the upper view floors and no elevator is available.
Great place to visit, but pretty far from anything. Buses take up to 2 hours from the nearest city, but best to rent a car if you can. Also you can wear vintage samurai armor and kimotos.
Went a few days ago. Managed to see the sakura trees, but not all were in full bloom. However it was a pleasant walk and there were other interesting things to see at the park. Parking was easy as there were signs everywhere. Paid 500 yen for parking.
